About Martin Yate
My name is Martin Yate, and I have been professionally involved in career management issues since the 1970's. I have worked as an international headhunter, in corporate Human Resources and in Training and Development.
In the last twenty years, I have published almost a dozen books - including the best-selling Knock 'em Dead series and Hiring the Best - that address different aspects of negotiating the challenges of lifetime career management. The National Association of Personnel Services recognized my contributions to career management by awarding me with an honorary CPC - the only such honorary award in the 50+ years of the association.
I've written for and spoken to audiences around the world about career management, writing resumes, writing cover letters, the many different ways of finding jobs (apart from networking and using headhunters), turning interviews into job offers at the best possible salary and getting off on the right foot at that job. My work has spoken to increasing your professional visibility and credibility, getting into and succeeding in management; and I have addressed practical approaches for pursuing entrepreneurial initiatives while you pursue a full-time career, as well as turning your dreams and passions into income streams.
I am here to help you get a little bit closer to your ideal of a fulfilling life, and I think you will find that this evolving Knock 'em Dead site embodies a comprehensive and cohesive approach to lifetime career management that can help you achieve that very thing. Whatever your problem, together we can probably find a solution. I'm on this website five days a week (often weekends too, as writers notoriously have little in the way of real lives), and I look forward to your questions.
